JPG is a useful export when an app or upload form does not accept WebP. If your WebP has transparent areas, choose their replacement background before exporting. Animated WebP files are exported as a still image, so the animation is not retained.
Common questions
Does renaming .webp to .jpg convert the image?
No. Renaming changes the filename only. This tool decodes the image and re-encodes the pixels as an actual JPEG file.
Can the JPG keep WebP transparency?
No. JPG does not support alpha transparency. Use WebP to PNG if you need to keep the transparent areas.
