Smaller files, with the detail you need
Lower quality settings usually make JPG and WebP files smaller. Reducing pixel dimensions can save more space when an image is much larger than its intended display size. PNG is lossless, so it has no quality slider. Already optimized files can become larger when re-encoded; the result shows the actual size change.
Common questions
Can you guarantee a particular file size?
No. File size depends on the image content, dimensions, format, and browser encoder. Try a lower quality setting or smaller maximum width if you need a smaller file. Always check the exported size before downloading.
Should I use JPG, PNG, or WebP?
WebP is a useful starting point for web images and supports transparency. JPG works well for photos on a solid background. PNG keeps sharp graphics lossless, but may be larger than a lossy export.
