What happens to transparent areas?
JPG cannot store transparency. This converter fills transparent parts of your PNG with the background color you choose, using white by default. JPG can make photographs smaller, but fine text and logos may look better as PNG or WebP.
Common questions
Will my transparent PNG get a black background?
No. Transparent areas are filled with the selected background, which defaults to white. Check the preview before downloading.
Can I reverse the conversion without losing quality?
Converting the JPG back to PNG will not recover the transparency or detail removed by JPG compression. Keep your original PNG if you may need to edit it later.
